Dear Vinny,

I’ve been doing a lot of duck hunting lately and have developed a strange rash on my chest and back. I live in the SW and have been hunting in the Midwest. Is it something different hunting clothing can help with? Is it the humidity? Am I allergic to the duck blind?

Dear Itchy in the Blind,

It is highly unlikely any different hunting clothing will help with your rash unless you are washing them in a detergent that you are allergic to. The humidity and heat can play a part, and a good dose of Gold Bond on any part of the body can go a long way when it comes to a day in the field. Be sure to take a shower at the end of the day, too, that always helps! If you have a wife or significant other, I am sure they would be happy to hear you are allergic to the duck blind, but I certainly hope that is not the case for you. Happy hunting, and I hope you can find a way to do more shooting and less itching.
