Dear Vinny,
I am a land broker with a large list of clients. Some of these relationships span years and decades, and some are new. As I grow my business, I want to make sure my past clients feel taken care of and appreciative of the business that we have done. As your business grows, how do you show your prior clients you care both personally and professionally?
-Past and Present
Dear Past and Present,
Managing a long client list can be a big challenge, especially if your clients invite you to join them and their families in additional activities. Being present when they are available is vital to fostering those relationships. However, there will be some clients that will not be upset if you can’t make it to enjoy their property with them. Being a full-time ranch broker requires trust and personal relationships; how you manage those relationships and your time will undoubtedly lead to some wins and some losses. I always try to be in the room if I can physically be there. Also, having systems to stay connected with present clients who are actively looking for a ranch is crucial. I am not going to give all our secrets away but figuring out a schedule/system that lets past and present clients know that you are looking out for their best interest keeps them engaged.
